Overview

This project is in collaboration with PT. Daya Gagas Indonesia and BNI. BNI (Nank Negara Indonesia) is one of the leading banking service providers in Indonesia. Mobile Banking App is one of their main products.

The Challenge

The BNI Mobile Banking application is more than 5 years old, With the growing number of competitors banking app, BNI wants to explore how they can attract experience users to using the banking app.

One of our main challenges is the lack of time that we have day to day, we can only redesign the User Interface (UI).

A fresh face with simpler home

I designed a new set of content icons for BNI App. So when I started working on mobile, I carried them over. While I was at it, I took the opportunity to optimize our mobile aesthetic for focus and clarity. Added promo information banner and notification for their business.

Rapid retrieval with a simpler menu

BNI has many features in its application. Through testing and analysis analysis, we found that in the old design all features were made in the form of a list so that it was not uncommon for users not to know about the existing features because they were closed at the bottom. The new home design refocuses the experience around existing features and creates a more scalable layout for other features through the use of tabbed menus and icons.

The account mutation feature is the most frequently accessed feature by users. However, in the old design of this account mutation page, we realized that the available pages often made it difficult for users because the information provided was too long and cut the page. In the new design we created a one-page fit account mutation page and organized the information as clearly as possible.

There is an assumption that when users make transactions, especially on favorite features, they are difficult to realize the name, destination account, and destination bank because the column is too small. To better communicate this value, we create uniform fields with other fields and make other pages more clarity by focusing on their use.

As mentioned earlier, we designed a new set of content icons for BNI App, to optimize our mobile aesthetic for focus and clarity. Recognizing the limited time and the many existing BNI features, there are still many things that need to be tidied up later.

Takeaways

Since there is a dedicated team for this application (PM, Technicians, Shareholders), working together to create harmony between teams is a good exercise to get my collaboration and negotiation skills to serve a win-win solution in a short time for this project for all.
